The 2015 Award Season

Maggie Leone '17 and Kelsey Locante '17, Sports Editor and Staff Writer

The 2015 awards season has died down quite a bit, but we are still reeling from all the great events this year.  From Sam Smith sweeping the Grammys to the Oscar upsets to the best dressed celebrities, 2015 has not been disappointing in the slightest.

 The Grammys:

Sam Smith won four Grammy awards this year, and deservingly so!  His album In the Lonely Hour is amazing.  A major surprise, however, was Beck winning Artist of the Year rather than Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell, or Beyonce.

 The Oscars:

The Oscars were very entertaining this year – Neil Patrick Harris did a great job hosting for the very first time.  The winners were all very deserving of the awards, though I was a mildly surprised that the award for Best Actor did not go to Michael Keaton for his performance in the film Birdman.
