At the beginning of the summer, the greatly anticipated live action movie, Aladdin, was released. It stars Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Mina Massoud as Aladdin, and Will Smith as the Genie. The film follows the original story with a few modern twists with one of them being that there is more of a leadership role in Jasmine as she pursues the title of Sultan. The movie made $1.049 billion in the box office and has a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94% audience score as well. Recently, it was released on DVD and is getting grabbed quickly from the shelf by fans wanting to own this magnificent movie. Most of the people who went to see the movie went back to see it again to catch new details and experience the magic again.

Many fans fell in love with the song-filled film and adored the new adaptation of the original movie, but some think that these live action remakes are a waste of time and are just a way to make money. The film included the songs we knew from the original movie, but added new words to “Arabian Nights” and added a solo song for Jasmine called “Speechless.” Another change is that there is not only the romance between Aladdin and Jasmine, but also between the Genie and Jasmine’s handmaid, Dalia.

Overall, the movie was received well and loved by many. Since the movie did so well, there are rumors of a Return of Jafar live action remake, which has fans sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the official news from Disney.
