COVID-19 Pandemic Update

Since the lockdown began in March of 2020, there have been significant changes and updates on the status of different vaccines and hopes of returning to normal life eventually. Currently, some states in the U.S., are lifting mask mandates, letting restaurants open to full capacity, and trying to get life back to normal. Some experts say that this is a bad idea and that they need to continue the current measures to keep the number of cases in the U.S. declining. Currently, there are only three Covid-19 vaccines authorized and provided. These vaccines are the Pfizer-BioTech, Moderna, and one that was just recently approved, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. There are also two Covid-19 vaccines in Phase 3 of clinical trials and they are the AstraZeneca vaccine and the Novavax vaccine. These vaccines are an important tool to help reach herd immunity and to hopefully get back to normal sometime soon.  There are different opinions on when life will return to some sense of normalcy, but this all depends on the pace of vaccination and if people follow the safety guidelines put in place by the CDC. Overall, everyone must remember to be intentional with their actions and do their part in helping stop the spread of Covid-19.
