Meet the Freshmen Student Council Officers!

Caroline Albacete, Staff Writer '17

President Lindy Brennan has jumped right into high school life after graduating from Sacred Heart. Since coming to Oakland Catholic, she has joined the cross country team and intends to participate on OC’s diving team. When she’s not taking part in various Oakland Catholic extracurricular activities, Lindy loves to do anything active, especially jumping on her trampoline. Lindy also enjoys watching the show Law and Order: SVU, and her favorite movie is The Conjuring.  She couldn’t survive without her favorite snack – brownies. Lindy is really looking forward to Christmas, as it is her favorite holiday

Next, we caught up with Meredith Flanagan, the sweet-toothed Vice-President. A graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic School, Meredith’s high school career has gotten off to an energetic start, since she already joined Latin Club, the crew team, and the basketball team. In her spare time, Meredith likes to relax by watching Survivor and hanging out with family and friends. Her favorite vacation spot is Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Meridith’s secret ambition is to audition for Survivor and/or attend medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. Meredith, much like her fellow Student Council officer, Lindy, is also looking forward to her favorite holiday, Christmas.

The freshman class secretary is Caroline Ciocco, a graduate of St. Alphonsus. The organizations that she become involved in since coming to Oakland include the varsity tennis team, Maria Goretti Club, forensics, Campus Ministry, and (she hopes) the lacrosse team. Caroline likes watching Duck Dynasty, going to Central football games, and visiting her sister Angelina, a sophomore at Penn State. She loves eating salty snacks like goldfish, and her greatest ambition is to become the Principle Ballerina with the New York City Ballet. If Caroline could have anything in the world, she would want a time machine so that she could travel back in time to witness the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Caroline is really looking forward to the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve.

Last but not least, is Teegan Zeh, freshman class treasurer and graduate of St. Mary’s of the Assumption. Teegan participates in Oakland’s Chinese Club and is considering joining the diving team. In her free time, she loves to dance and watch either Gossip Girl or Dance Moms. Her dream is to dance professionally, and her favorite things to munch on are chips. Teegan enjoys Thanksgiving the most out of all the holidays, and she’s really excited to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The upcoming Student Council event is the Winter Semi-Formal: Frozen in Time, on December 13th. Student Council hopes that everyone who goes has a great time! Three cheers for our Freshman Student Council officers!
