Welcome Mrs. Carvellas!

Annie Trainor '18, Staff Writer

It’s the beginning of a new school year at Oakland Catholic, and that means lots of new faces to get to know. Oakland Catholic is excited to welcome Mrs. Carvellas to the OC Math Department, where she teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Mrs. Carvellas is very familiar with Catholic school education, having attended Grove City College and receiving a Master’s in Education from DeSales University. Mrs. Carvellas has always liked math. Her favorite class in high school was AP calculus because of its challenging yet logical nature, and she would much rather be solving puzzles or doing math problems than writing an essay.

Outside of school, Mrs. Carvellas is very busy with moving into her new house. She loves to spend time with her three young children and enjoys reading all different kinds of books. When asked what her favorite thing about Oakland is, she said that it is a great community, working with the faculty is great,, and the students are a lot of fun and have a lot of school spirit. On behalf of everyone at the OC Eagle Eye, welcome to Oakland Catholic, Mrs. Carvellas!
