Welcome, Ms. Perry!

The OC community is pleased to welcome Ms. Alison Perry to this school year’s teaching staff! She is a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher who is currently teaching Honors Geometry, Honors Calculus and Finance Literacy and Entrepreneurship! I recently had the opportunity to interview her.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself.
A: I am from and currently live in Monroeville. I attended Gateway High School.
Q: Where did you get your degree?
A: Duquesne University.
Q: What degree do you have?
A: My degree is in Math and Secondary Education!
Q: Prior Experience?
A: I have previously taught at Norwin High School and Springdale Junior/Senior High School.
Q: Why did you become a teacher?
A: I had some really great math teachers and some not so great math teachers in high school and want for everyone to have a positive experience in math! Also, I really enjoy math!
Q: Did you always know you’d become a teacher?
A: Yes, that has always been the plan!
Q: What convinced you to come to Oakland Catholic?
A: I have heard wonderful things about here and loved the atmosphere during the interview!
Q: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
A: Positive, happy, athletic
Q: What is something else that you do for fun?
A: I really like to run!
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Swimming at the community swimming pool! We used to go everyday during the summer!
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I coach a swim team over the summer!
Q: How has your Oakland Catholic experience been so far?
A: Fanatistic!
