For the past six months, OCXC has been putting in the miles. After winning WPIALS and coming in second at the PIAA State meet, OCXC’s top runners—Megan Ellery ‘17, Sophie Young ‘18, Megan Nagy ‘18, Hannah Schupansky ‘19, Katelyn Ellery ‘19, Kate Aldrich ‘19, and Ana Bergstedt ‘19—traveled to Wappinger Falls, New York to compete in the Nike Cross Regional Meet two days after Thanksgiving. The six months of hard work paid off when the team placed eighth. Senior Megan Ellery said, “We went in knowing that we would be racing the toughest competition we had all year. But we also went in knowing that if we did as we had been doing all season then we could hang with the best of the best. I think that’s one great thing about our team: we aren’t afraid to be put up against some hard competition, because no matter what, we are going to make it through the race together and have a great time doing it.” Congratulations to the girls for a very successful season!

Be sure to check out sophomore Brouklin Alger’s videos for a fun look at some of the races from this season!
