At Oakland Catholic, winter sports are back in full swing! Here is a preview of what fans can look forward to this season:

Dribble it, pass it, we want a basket! The 2019-2020 OC basketball season is well underway. Practice began on Monday, November 18, and the girls have been giving it their all to prove themselves on the court. According to senior leader, Margaret Terry, “Some people may think it’s a rebuilding year, but I believe we will shock many with our talent and teamwork.” The team may have lost five all star seniors from last season, but the younger girls see this loss as an opportunity to show what they are capable of. The season officially starts on December 6 when the girls play Seton La Salle in the DP. Come out and support your eagles!

In conjunction with Central Catholic, the swim team also began practice on November 18 at the Sarah Heinz House. Led by OC senior captains, Bridget Doyle, Jess Huwar, Maggie Smith, and Brigh Moffatt, the swim team is excited to take on another year in the pool. Maggie expressed her enthusiasm and said, “I’m looking forward to another year on the team and I’m excited to see how everyone improves by the end of the season!” Ava Christy ‘20 shares Maggie’s enthusiasm as she prepares to captain the dive team. If you want to watch your Eagles and Vikings kick off the season with a big splash, support them at their first meet on December 12 at Chatham at 7 pm.

Good luck to all our winter sports athletes! Soar Eagles!
